TEACHING AT WILLEM DE KOONING ART ACADEMY, ROTTERDAM
A LITTLE THROWBACK TO MY FOUNDATION IN SERVICE DESIGN: 2015 - 2016

As a teacher at Willem de Kooning Art Academy, I designed and facilitated interdisciplinary classes with 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students in projects linked to human-centred design challenges. Think: The future of libraries, retail in the age online shopping, urban development and sustainability. Courses: design research / prototype work / minor project.

For me, to teach is about creating meaningful communication and design that supports life in the widest sense: from equality to peace,  connection to co-creation, from creative expression to sustainability. In teaching, I love to combine theoretical frameworks with peer learning methods to tap into the collective intelligence of the group. Usually I also stimulate learning by doing through practical research, prototyping and experiment.

Below impressions from this time and my visit to Standford d.school.
